Joey with electric assist

Blog feature

Electric bikes are becoming ever more popular, and for good reason. They can level out differences in riding speed, make commuting and general A to B transportation more comfortable, and extend riding distances.

We felt the Joey was a good platform to which to add an electric assist. Having studied the available options, we settled on the German made Pendix system. The system is well thought through and very well made. The motor unit neatly replaces the cranks, and the battery mounts to the top tube using the bottle cage mounts. This configuration maintains the convenience of the fold and doesn’t compromise the Joey’s highly regarded handling.
